The APPG wrote to the Defence Secretary following his statement in which he confirmed that two people captured by UK Forces and transferred to US detention had subsquently been rendered from Iraq to Afghanistan.
Secretary of State for Defence John Hutton wrote to the APPG about his Statement of 26 February 2009, in which he confirmed that two people captured by UK Forces and transferred to US authorities, had been rendered from Iraq to Afghanistan in 2004.  The letter set out that every substantive piece of correspondence sent from the MOD to Andrew Tyrie on this issue had been inaccurate.
The APPG received a reply to its letter of 21 October 2008 on the legal regime applicable to UK Forces in Iraq, and the legal obligations owed to those people it detains, captures, or arrests.
