Andrew Tyrie wrote again to the ISC following the latest ruling of the High Court in the case of British resident Binyam Mohamed.  The Court had ruled that 'The ISC Report could not have been made in such terms if the 42 documents [that Binyam Mohamed's lawyers were seeking disclosure of] had been made available to it'.

Andrew Tyrie wrote to the Foreign Affairs Committee (FAC) about the Government's Response to the Committee's Human Rights Annual Report 2007.  He raised concerns about 'rendition circuit' flights, US assurances on torture, and British nationals detained on suspicion of terrorist offences in Pakistan.

Andrew Tyrie wrote to the Foreign Affairs Committee (FAC), further to its joint evidence session with the Defence Committee on Iraq and Afghanistan, about the procedures in place to ensure that detainees captured by British Forces and subsequently transferred to US, Iraqi or Afghan forces, are properly treated.   The Secretaries of State for Defence, and for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs, gave evidence at the session, which was held on 28 October 2008.

Andrew Tyrie wrote to the Foreign Affairs Committee (FAC) about Diego Garcia, further to its stated intention to 'examine further the extent of UK supervision of US activities on Diego Garcia, including all flights and ships serviced from Diego Garcia'.  The letter included a note on the legal framework applicable to Diego Garcia, and highlighted possible breaches of this framework in relation to the two confirmed rendition flights through Diego Garcia, and further recent allegations.

The APPG writes to the Intelligence and Security Committee (ISC) about Binyam Mohamed and its Report into Rendition, following the judgment of the High Court in R (B Mohamed) v Foreign Secretary.  It asks the ISC to take steps to establish the reasons for apparent discrepancies between its findings and the judgment of the High Court.
