Andrew Tyrie writes to Foreign Secretary David Miliband, following previous correspondence to the FCO on 24 July 2008 about the list of flights sent to the US for specific assurances that they were not involved in renditions.
Following a Parliamentary Question asked by Andrew Tyrie about the number of British nationals detained on suspicion of terrorist offences in Bangladesh, Egypt and Syria, FCO Minister Bill Rammell replied. Records indicated that two British nationals had been held in Bangladesh, two in Syria, and none in Egypt.
The APPG resubmitted previous Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests to the Foreign Office (FCO). The requests had previously been made on 20 May 2008, but the bulk of them had been refused on cost limit grounds.
