Ken Clarke: Government's anti-torture policy must be strengthened

Writing in Conservative Home today, Ken Clarke says that if we are to avoid a repeat of the shameful involvement of the UK in rendition and torture - as illustrated in the Belhaj case - the Government's anti-torture policy (known as the Consolidated Guidance) must be strengthened.

The article sets out the APPG's recommendations and refers to correspondence on the matter with the Prime Minister, who has said that the review will “revisit the [All-Party Group’s] previous proposals, along with any other comments.”
