APPG Chair in the FT: 'We must investigate UK complicity in rendition of terror suspects'

Writing in the Financial Times today following his urgent question in the Commons on Monday, APPG Chair Ken Clarke says a full independent judge-led inquiry is the only way that the full truth of Britain’s involvement in extraordinary rendition and torture will be revealed.  

He says he cannot understand why the Intelligence and Security Committee were blocked from interviewing key witnesses, and that announcing a judge-led inquiry would be a mark of the government’s commitment to holding Britain to the highest ethical standards.
